At the academy of music, I started my education as a singer by studying the piano for 7 years!
After graduating as a pianist I started my second education, and graduated as a singer – tenor – three years later from the academy of music.
My career began with three years at The Royal Dansih Opera. I then decided to “go free-lance”, and I have been singing as such ever since.
During my career I have received several awards and prices. Amongst others: Spies foundation – Singer of the year 1994, Symphony Orchestra of Aalborg, Danish association of Opera-friends and Queen Ingrids Roman Foundation.
In Denmark I've sung at all the major venues from The Royal Opera over The Danish National Opera to all the minor chamber opera companies.
Internationally I've sung with companies in Austria, France, Norway, Sweden, England, Holland, Belgium, USA etc.
Parallel to my singing career I graduated in 2009 with a master’s degree in “Elite vocal teaching” at The Royal Danish Academy of Music. Today I´m an associate professor at the very same place.
Privately I´m married to the multi-artist Mikael Melbye. We live part-time in the Copenhagen area and part-time in Tuscany, Italy with our Danish Farm Dog Totò
