Teaching

"A singing teacher should consider himself a gardener, more than a sculptor"

With a Master's degree in Elite Singing Pedagogy from the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music, I was employed as a singing teacher at the same place in 2009. Today I am employed as  Associate Professor in singing and singing pedagogy at DKDM. In addition to that, I also teach solo singing at Sjællands Church Music School in Roskilde and at MGK at Frederiksberg Musikhøjskole.

In addition to the above, I have a large crowd of private singing students.

If you would like to read a little about my thoughts about singing lessons, you are welcome to read the present "Methodology". This teaching method was included as a minor part of the overall thesis, which – in addition to the practical teaching – completed my master's degree at DKDM.

Feel free to contact me for a non-binding chat about teaching, and a possible agreement to meet for a singing lesson.

"...On a glorious Friday in April 2007, Jan Lund held an inspiring masterclass for the oldest singing students at the Jysk Conservatory of Music. It was a rewarding day for the young singers. Jan is imbued with music from the outside to the inside, and with great empathy and, of course, authority, manages to move the student both in relation to technique, musical shaping and musical expression. In addition to the masterclass itself, Jan also willingly participated in a dialogue with the students, where he generously shared his vast experience from his singing career.

I look back on the day with great pleasure”.

Annette Bo Nielsen – Lecturer in classical singing at the Jutland Conservatory of Music

“Jan Lund gave an excellent master class for “The Oberlin in Italy Program”, in August, 2016, in Arezzo, Italy. It was really helpful to the students as he had professional, fine and varied comments for each of the students he worked with, and each singer was able to change for the better.

Thank You for the splendid master class”.

Daune Mahy – Professor of Singing, Oberlin Conservatory.

"Having had so many wonderful years with such a good teacher, who has helped to lay out a long and sustainable plan for where "we" are going, has meant the world. the eternal support, the good advice and the development we have been through means that I am so looking forward to continuing with you as a teacher at the conservatory"

Niklas de Fries – Opera singer graduated from the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music.
